ENG 114    Introduction to Academic English II                        

This is a non-credit course compulsory for the students who passed the English prep school proficiency exam on the condition that they take supplementary courses during the first two semesters along with the Freshman English courses taught in their departments.  A continuation of the ENG 113, the course covers a wide variety of language texts and materials which will further improve students’ academic and critical thinking skills necessary for them to follow the courses in their faculties. In addition, the ENG 114 course aims at providing students with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of linguistic accuracy and range in English, which they need to cope with their academic studies. Students’ performance at the end of the semester will be assessed on the basis of ‘S’ (satisfactory) or ‘U’ (unsatisfactory) grading system and students will not be able to graduate unless they score ‘S’ in this course
